This is a combination that regular users of BRITA water filters have been anxiously looking forward to for some time now. The new filter jug from BRITA boasts a gorgeous design, materials of the highest quality, as well as the innovative SMART LIGHT technology. Moreover, it’s sustainable too: 60% of the jug is made of recycled glass, while the funnel is moulded from 100% bioplastic.

When it comes to sustainability, you’ll be glad to find out that the new MAXTRA PRO water filter is the most environmentally friendly of all filters BRITA has produced so far: its body is made of 50% bioplastic. The filter is as efficient as it is sustainable, by the way: an additional mesh results in 4 times less microparticles reaching your glass of water (compared to the MAXTRA+ filter).

– The premium-quality borosilicate glass this jug is made of is extremely durable and suited perfectly for daily use. It boasts a high degree of light permeability and chemical stability. When held in jugs made of borosilicate glass, liquids take longer to grow hot or cold. If that’s not enough, the material is also light, reliable and scratch-resistant. In other words, it’s nothing if not a new-generation kind of glass!

– The SMART LIGHT filter change indicator relies on a system inspired by traffic lights. You can forget all about racking your brain trying to figure out when’s the right time to replace your old water filter—SMART LIGHT will take care of it all for you:

Green light: your water is fresh and ready for you to enjoy.

Yellow light: start getting a new filter ready. 

Red light: make sure to replace your water filter as soon as possible. 

– The MAXTRA PRO MICROFLOW technology is designed to make water even cleaner and more refreshing. The new MAXTRA PRO filter prevents limescale deposits from forming and reduces the amount of substances, such as lead, copper and chloride, that may end up ruining the taste of your water. With 50% of it made of bioplastic, the filter is sustainable, while a finer mesh ensures that even the smallest particles and impurities (like herbicides, pesticides and the like) are successfully filtered out.

– The funnel is made of 100% bioplastic.

– The lid, spout and handle are made of BPA-free plastic.
