Descaling liquid De’Longhi EcoDecalk, 200 ml DLSC202 (5513284391)

Limescale is one of the most common causes of coffee machine failure, so it’s very important to remove it in time. The new eco-friendly descaling liquid De’Longhi “EcoDecalk” efficiently removes limescale accumulated in the water system of your coffee machine while prolonging the lifespan of your appliance too. How to use it?

One bottle (200 ml) of this descaling liquid is enough for two descaling cycles. Each cycle requires 100 ml of descaler, which then has to be mixed with water.

– If you’re using a bean-to-cup machine (with a built-in grinder), simply run the descaling program (see the user manual of your appliance for more details). 

– If you’re using a semi-automatic appliance, remove the portafilter and place empty containers under the milk frother and the coffee dispenser. Pour the descaler into the water tank of your machine, then let the mixture flow and exit through the milk frother and coffee dispenser. Release all of the liquid in four separate cycles, pausing for 5 minutes in between each one. Repeat the procedure with clean water, then rinse the water tank thoroughly.

How often should you do this?

That depends on how hard your water is: the harder the water, the more often you’ll have to descale your appliance (some bean-to-cup machines enable you to select the hardness of your water: this data is then used to automatically notify you as soon as the time to descale your appliance rolls around).
